The PD6200 is a member of the ProVu series of 1/8 DIN digital panel meters that is specifically designed to display flow rate and total from an analog output (4-20 mA, 0-5 V, 1-5 V, etc.) flowmeter. It displays that signal on a dual-line, 6-digit display that is available with optional Sunbright® sunlight readable LEDs. Flow rate is typically displayed on the upper line and the cumulative total is displayed on the lower line. The total overflow feature allows up to a 9-digit total and grand total to be displayed. Like all ProVu meters, the PD6200 includes UL / C-UL listing and CE marking, a NEMA 4X front, and AC or DC power options. ProVu meters can be equipped with up to four internal relays, a 4-20 mA output, and Modbus® RTU serial communications. The PD6200 includes a 24 VDC power supply to drive the flowmeter and can be programmed via the front panel pushbuttons or free MeterView® Pro software.

Differential Pressure Flow

The PD6200 can display flow rate and total by extracting the square root from the 4-20 mA signal from a differential pressure transmitter. The user selectable low-flow cutoff feature gives a reading of zero when the flow rate drops below a user selectable value.

Convert Pulse to 4-20 mA with PD6300

The PD6300 accepts the pulse output from a flowmeter and with the appropriate option installed can convert the pulse to a 4-20 mA signal. The 4-20 mA signal can be programmed to correspond to either the flow rate or the total flow.

Open Channel Flow

The PD6200, in combination with an ultrasonic level transmitter, makes for an economical way to measure and display open channel flow rate and total in most weirs and flumes and take periodic samples. All the user needs to do is enter the exponent for the weir or flume into the PD6200 and the PD6200 automatically raises the input signal to that power. Sampling can be based on the total flow or the flow rate. For instance, to display open channel flow rate and total from a 3 inch Parshall flume and take a one pint sample every 100,000 gallons, the user would program the PD6200 as follows:

MeterView® Pro Software

MeterView Pro Video
MeterView Pro software is designed for use with ProVu meters and allows users to remotely program, monitor, and datalog using a PC. Remote programming allows for all available meter settings to be programmed through an easy user-friendly interface. The user can monitor and display most of the meters variables at variable update rates. The data acquisition feature allows the user to gather readings from a meter at user-selected intervals and generate charts using common tools like Microsoft Excel. A linearization setup function is also included. With this utility the user can configure up to 32 linearization points and upload them to the meter. All configuration data can be saved to a file for future use. This software is available for ProVus having software versions 2.0 and higher.

To determine the software version of a meter:

  1. Go to the Diagnostics menu () and press Enter button.
  2. Press Up arrow button and scroll to Information menu (Info).
  3. Press Enter to access the software number (), version (), and serial number () information. Write down the information as it is displayed. Continue pressing Enter until all the information is displayed.
  4. The meter returns to Run Mode after displaying all the settings.

PDA1044 ProVu Digital I/O Expansion Module

The PDA1044 digital I/O external expansion module adds four digital inputs and four digital outputs to any ProVu meter. Up to two digital I/O expansion modules may be added to each meter, for a total of eight (8) additional digital inputs and outputs per meter. External digital inputs function similarly to the F4 digital input on most ProVu models. They can be configured to trigger events (e.g. acknowledge/reset alarms, reset max and/or min values, disable/enable all output relays), provide specific menu access, or mimic front keys. Digital outputs can be used to remotely monitor alarm relay states or the states of a variety of actions and functions executed by the meter.

PDA2300 NEMA 4X, C-UL listed enclosures feature a hinged door in which meters are mounted so all programming and operational functions are available without opening the enclosure. The PDA2300 can house between one and ten meters in either horizontal or vertical orientation. A dual orientation enclosure for two 1/8 DIN devices is also available. All PDA2300 enclosures are outfitted with stainless-steel hinges and clasps. Enclosures and meters are ordered and packaged separately.

PDA3400 NEMA 4X enclosures provide a high degree of protection against the harsh operating environment of an industrial plant. Precision Digital’s meters can be mounted in various configurations; interior mounting plates with cutouts for up to three meters are available. Meters are mounted inside the enclosure for maximum protection and the clear polycarbonate cover is held in place with four screws. A dual orientation enclosure for two 1/8 DIN devices is also available. Enclosures and meters are ordered and packaged separately.

The PDA1004 four relay external expansion module adds four 3 amp Form A (SPST) relays to any ProVu meter. It can be configured for functions similar to the ProVu onboard relays and can be added at any time.

PDA1200 ProVu Meter Copy Cable, 3' (0.9 m)

The PDA1200 is a standard 3 ft. meter copy cable for the ProVu series of digital panel meters. It connects two ProVu meters together so the programming from one ProVu can be copied to the other. No additional serial adapters are required. It is provided with the PDA1232 and PDA1485 and is also sold separately.

PDA1232 ProVu RS-232 Serial Adapter
The PDA1232 converts the serial output of the ProVu meter to an unbalanced, full-duplex RS-232 signal. The RS-232 port has a female DB9 connector with pins 2 (RX output), 3 (TX input), and 5 (Signal Ground). Pins 7 (RTS) and 8 (CTS) are tied together, and pins 1 (CD), 4 (DTR), and 6 (DSR) are tied together. The adapter is powered by the ProVu meter M-Link connection. The PDA1232 has three diagnostic LEDs: a Power (P) LED to show when the adapter is powered properly, a Transmit Data (TX) LED to show when the adapter is sending data out from the PC side, and a Receive Data (RX) LED to show when the adapter is receiving data from the ProVu meter.

PDA1485 ProVu RS-485 Serial Adapter
The PDA1485 converts the serial output of the ProVu meter to balanced, full or half-duplex RS-485 signals. The PDA1485 has a removable screw terminal connector for the RS-485 terminals which includes Transmit Data (DO) and (/DO), Receive Data (DI) and (/DI), and Signal Ground. The adapter is provided by the ProVu meter M-Link connection. The PDA1485 has three diagnostic LEDs: a Power (P) LED to show when the adapter is powered properly, a Transmit Data (TX) LED to show when the adapter is sending data out from the PC side, and a Receive Data (RX) LED to show when the adapter is receiving data from the ProVu meter.
