Precision Digital manufactures a wide range of field-mounted indicators and controllers that are suitable for harsh and hazardous environments. They can be easily mounted to pipes, walls and other surfaces in your facility, inside or outdoors. These meters feature either rugged NEMA 4X safe area enclosures or FM, CSA, ATEX, IECEx approved explosion-proof enclosures. Field mounted loop-powered meters can be installed in areas with limited access to additional power because they derive their power from the 4-20 mA loop. Many of these meters feature large digits and sunlight readable, wide angle displays.

  • PD6938-EX ProtEX+ Pulse Input Explosion-Proof Flow Rate/Totalizer

    The PD6938 ProtEX+ pulse input flow rate/totalizers can be installed in a variety of areas (hazardous, dirty, wet, corrosive, hot, or cold) to provide convenient and informative display of flow rate and total from any pulse output flowmeter. These instruments will accept a variety of pulse inputs, including slow pulse rates. They can be powered from a battery, 9-30 VDC, or the 4-20 mA output loop, have on-board datalogging capabilities, come with explosion-proof approvals, and can be ordered with optional 4-20 mA output and two relays.

    The ProtEX+ carries all major approvals including:

    •  CSA Certified as Explosion-Proof / Dust Ignition-Proof / Flame-Proof
    •  ATEX and IECEx Certified as Explosion-Proof

    The PD6938 can operate down to -40°C and is certified by the agencies to be installed in areas that get as cold as -55°C.

    The PD6938 ProtEX+ is available in aluminum and stainless steel enclosures that are designed for easy use and installation. The process connection is available in M20, 3/4" NPT and 1" NPT and there are two other conduit holes for field wiring.

    Free, PC-based, MeterView XL software that connects to the meter via a micro-USB cable is available for programming and setup of the instruments. Four CapTouch through-window buttons are available to operate the instrument without removing the cover.

    All models come equipped with two open collector outputs and a digital input. There are also models available with Modbus RTU RS-485 communications, two solid-state relays, and isolated 4-20 mA analog output options.

    The ProtEX-Lite carries all major approvals including:

    It is available in either an aluminum or stainless steel enclosure with ½" NPT or M20 threaded conduit openings. The PD663 is easy to install and program and the display can be seen in a variety of lighting conditions, even in bright sunlight. It will operate down to -40°C and is approved for installation in areas where the temperature gets as cold as -55°C, however the display will cease functioning.

    The ProtEX-MAX PD8-765 explosion-proof, large-display, process and temperature meter offers all the functionality of the Trident X2 as a CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certified explosion-proof product. It is available in an aluminum or stainless steel enclosure and will operate over a wide temperature range of -55 to 65°C (-67 to 149°F). PD8-765's huge 1.2" (30.5 mm) sunlight readable display that is visible from over 30 feet away. This explosion-proof indicator can be field programmed to accept process voltage (0-5 V, 1-5 V, etc.) and current (4-20 mA) inputs, 100 Ohm RTDs, and the four most common thermocouples. The intensity of the display can be adjusted to compensate for various lighting conditions, including direct sunlight. The meter can be customized such that these two inputs are displayed in a variety of ways, including both at the same time with tags or the result of math functions performed on one or both of the inputs.     The ProtEX-MAX PD8-6080 Super Snooper Modbus scanner offers all the functionality of the ProVu PD6080 as a CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certified explosion-proof product. It is available in an aluminum or stainless steel enclosure and will operate over a wide temperature range of -55 to 65°C (-67 to 149°F). It is a multi-purpose display and controller capable of scanning up to 16 process variables and includes dual analog process inputs. The scanner can be programmed as a Modbus RTU master, slave, or snooper. It is the ideal display for Modbus multivariable transmitters or for existing Modbus networks with transmitters in need of a conveniently located display in a hazardous area. As a master, the PD8-6080 can read up to 16 Modbus registers on up to 16 Modbus devices and automatically alternate each of these process variables (PVs) on the dual-line display along with a unit and tag for each. In snooper mode, the scanner can read any Modbus variables being polled by a master, which allows you to easily add a display into an existing Modbus network.
