Precision Digital manufactures a wide variety of explosion-proof indicators and controllers which can be powered via either loop or line power and carry all the major approvals, such as CSA, ATEX and IECEx. In addition, a select group of explosion proof products are now UL Listed as Explosion-Proof / Dust Ignition-Proof / Flame-Proof. These instruments will accept a wide range of inputs, such as 4-20 mA, strain gauge, pulse, thermocouple, RTD and Modbus and can be equipped with relays, 4-20 mA outputs and serial re-transmission. They all feature displays that can be easily read in various lighting conditions, from wide angles, and from considerable distances.

  • PD6900-HA ProtEX+ Explosion-Proof & I.S. Loop-Powered Indicators

    The ProtEX+ loop-powered explosion-proof & intrinsically safe meters can be installed virtually anywhere to provide convenient and informative display of any 4-20 mA signal. They can operate down to -40°C and be installed in areas that get as cold as -55°C, however the display will cease functioning. One of the most convenient features is the dual-line display, typically used to display the process variable on the 5-character alphanumeric top display and the units of measure or tag on the 8-character alphanumeric bottom display. Feet and inches models display level in feet and inches on the top display while the 8-digit alphanumeric bottom line may be used to display a tag or custom message. Further enhancing the display on these instruments is a 20-segment bargraph.

    The ProtEX+ carries all major approvals including:

    Four CapTouch through-glass buttons are available to operate the instrument without removing the cover. Free, PC-based, MeterView XL software that connects to the meter via a micro USB cable is available for programming and setup of the meters.

    All models come equipped with two open collector outputs and a digital input. There are also models available with two solid-state relays and isolated 4-20 mA analog output options.

    The ProtEX+ loop-powered explosion-proof & intrinsically safe flow rate/totalizers can be installed virtually anywhere to provide convenient and informative display of any 4-20 mA signal. They can operate down to -40°C and be installed in areas that get as cold as -55°C, however the display will cease functioning. One of the most convenient features is the dual-line display, typically used to display the flow rate on the 5-character alphanumeric top display and flow total, flow grand total, or tag on the 8-character alphanumeric bottom display. The top display uses 12-segment, and the bottom display uses 14-segment alphanumeric characters for clear indication of tags, units, or alarm messages. Further enhancing the display on these instruments is a 20-segment bargraph.

  • PD663 ProtEX-Lite Explosion-Proof Loop-Powered Meter

    The ProtEX-Lite carries all major approvals including:

    It is available in either an aluminum or stainless steel enclosure with ½" NPT or M20 threaded conduit openings. The PD663 is easy to install and program and the display can be seen in a variety of lighting conditions, even in bright sunlight. It will operate down to -40°C and is approved for installation in areas where the temperature gets as cold as -55°C, however the display will cease functioning.

  • PD6830 ProtEX-RTP Explosion-Proof Pulse Input Flow Rate/Totalizer

    The ProtEX-RTP PD6830 is an explosion-proof flow rate/totalizer that can display flow rate and total from a pulse output flowmeter. Its display has a five digit upper line for rate, a seven alpha-numeric character lower line for total, and comes standard with a backlight.

    The ProtEX PD6830X is an explosion-proof, RS485 serial input Modbus® RTU scanner capable of scanning up to 16 Modbus variables and displaying them on an easy-to-read, dual-line, LCD display. This Modbus scanner can be programmed as a Modbus RTU master, slave, or snooper. The PD6830X is available in two upper display line configurations: 5-digit decimal display and feet & inches display with bar graph. The lower line is the same for both versions and consists of seven alphanumeric characters.

  • PD8-765 ProtEX-MAX Explosion-Proof Process and Temperature Meter

    The ProtEX-MAX PD8-765 explosion-proof, large-display, process and temperature meter offers all the functionality of the Trident X2 as a CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certified explosion-proof product. It is available in an aluminum or stainless steel enclosure and will operate over a wide temperature range of -55 to 65°C (-67 to 149°F). PD8-765's huge 1.2" (30.5 mm) sunlight readable display that is visible from over 30 feet away. This explosion-proof indicator can be field programmed to accept process voltage (0-5 V, 1-5 V, etc.) and current (4-20 mA) inputs, 100 Ohm RTDs, and the four most common thermocouples.     The ProtEX-MAX PD8-6000 explosion-proof process meter offers all the functionality of the ProVu PD6000 as a CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certified explosion-proof product. It is available in an aluminum or stainless steel enclosure and will operate over a wide temperature range of -55 to 65°C (-67 to 149°F). It accepts a process current (4-20 mA) or process voltage (0-5V, 1-5V, etc.) signal and displays it on a dual-line, 6-digit Sunbright sunlight readable display. The meter includes a 24 VDC power supply to drive the transmitter and can be equipped with four internal relays and a 4-20 mA output.
