Process
Process meters are high precision instruments designed to measure, display, alarm, and control a wide range of process variables, such as 4-20 mA and 0-10 V analog inputs. Precision Digital’s process meters are available with relays, analog and open collector outputs, 24 V transmitter power supply, programmable function keys and advanced signal input conditioning, all of which greatly increase their functionality and utility. Many of these meters include sunlight-readable, dual-line LED displays, wide angle viewing, increased power efficiency, and digital serial communications. Process meters are available in NEMA 4X front digital panel meters as well as FM, CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approved explosion-proof and intrinsically safe meters for hazardous areas.

Process

  • The ProtEX FarVu PD6870 is an explosion-proof, loop-powered process meter with 1" display digits in a field-mountable enclosure designed for demanding applications in hazardous areas or in the harshest environmental conditions. The meter derives all of its power from the 4-20 mA loop with a small 1 V drop so there is no need to run additional, costly power lines into a hazardous area. Like all ProtEX products, the PD6870 loop-powered indicator carries FM, CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approvals for use in hazardous areas. It is programmed using four easy-to-access, front-mounted control dials.

  • The MINIMUX® II PD138 is a microprocessor-based, eight-channel analog input scanner/multiplexer and annunciator that provides low-cost automatic switching for multi-point display and alarm systems. It can automatically switch up to eight inputs to another device such as a digital panel meter, controller, or PLC. Signal switching is done via reed relays making the PD138 ideal for switching thermocouples, RTDs, control loops, and AC/DC signals. They feature rugged NEMA 4X/IP65 fronts and a wide operating temperature range.   • The Nova PD540 is a digital temperature controller with auto-tuning PID capabilities that is available in 1/16, 3/16, 1/8, and 1/4 DIN sizes. Models include standard one-directional control (i.e. heating or cooling) or bi-directional heating and cooling control. One of four user programmable set points may be selected for PID control in the form of time proportional relay on/off output, time proportional voltage pulse output, or 4-20 mA signal control. Its universal input accepts 23 input varieties, including thermocouple, RTD, and voltage inputs, and it can be easily configured for a 4-20 mA input.   • The Nova PD550 is a digital temperature controller with two ramp and soak programs capable of storing 15 segments each for precision PID set point control. It is available in 1/16, 3/16, 1/8, and 1/4 DIN sizes. At the completion of a program, the controller can hold the set point, stop the outputs, or loop to one of the 30-segment programs. Its universal input accepts 23 input varieties, including thermocouple, RTD, and voltage inputs, and it can be easily configured for a 4-20 mA input.
