Level

Level
Level is one of the most common applications for Precision Digital’s meters. Our most popular products can be used for level applications and we also have meters that are specifically intended for use in level systems. These digital panel meters and explosion-proof indicators communicate critical level information at eye-level to the operator, effectively increasing safety by eliminating the need for operators to climb the tanks. The level can also be controlled with the use of relays, open collector, or 4-20 mA analog outputs. Select products include specialized level features such as pump alternation control, unique feet & inches displays with clearly labeled units, and dual-scale level displays that show level in two units from a single transmitter signal.

  • The MINIMUX® II PD138 is a microprocessor-based, eight-channel analog input scanner/multiplexer and annunciator that provides low-cost automatic switching for multi-point display and alarm systems. It can automatically switch up to eight inputs to another device such as a digital panel meter, controller, or PLC. Signal switching is done via reed relays making the PD138 ideal for switching thermocouples, RTDs, control loops, and AC/DC signals. They feature rugged NEMA 4X/IP65 fronts and a wide operating temperature range. They can be programmed for many common ISA alarm sequences including first out indication and they provide alarm signaling through front panel LEDs and a build in 85 dB horn. Custom printed message labels can be included with your order at no additional charge.

    Why you should buy:
    • Scans Temperature and Analog Inputs
    • Channel Alarms
    • NEMA 4X/IP65 Front
  • The ProVu PD6088 Super Snooper Modbus® scanner displays up to 16 Modbus process variables (PVs) on the bus using its RS-485 serial input. The PD6088 can function as a Modbus master, slave, or snooper. As a Modbus master, the PD6088 can poll multiple Modbus devices for up to 16 Modbus process variables. As a slave, a Modbus master can write up to 16 PVs to the scanner for display. In snooper mode, it can sit anywhere on the Modbus network and display up to 16 PVs being polled on the bus. When connecting a scanner in snooper mode, no other Modbus devices on the network need to be reconfigured, making it easy to add additional local or remote displays to a Modbus network. Like all ProVu meters, the PD6088 includes UL / C-UL listing and CE marking, a NEMA 4X front, and AC or DC power options. Various math functions may be applied to the analog or Modbus inputs, such as addition, difference, average, and ratio.

    Why you should buy:
  • The ProVu PD6080 Super Snooper Modbus® scanner is a multi-purpose display and controller capable of scanning up to 16 Modbus process variables and accepts two analog process inputs. The scanner can be programmed as a Modbus RTU master, slave, or snooper. It is the ideal display for Modbus multivariable transmitters or for existing Modbus networks with transmitters in need of an easy-to-read and conveniently located remote display. As a master, the PD6080 can read up to 16 Modbus registers on up to 16 Modbus devices and automatically alternate each of these process variables (PVs) on the dual-line display along with a unit and tag for each. In snooper mode, the PD6080 can read any Modbus variable being polled by a master, which allows you to easily add a display into an existing Modbus network. Like all ProVu meters, the PD6080 includes UL / C-UL listing and CE marking, a NEMA 4X front, and AC or DC power options. Powerful math functions may be applied to the analog or Modbus inputs, such as addition, difference, average, and ratio.

    Why you should buy:
  • The ProVu PD6081 Super Snooper feet & inches Modbus® scanner displays level information on a specially designed feet & inches display, instead of the usual decimal format. It is the ideal display for Modbus level or multivariable transmitters and is capable of scanning up to 16 Modbus process variables. Its unique feet & inches upper LED display can indicate up to 99 feet, 11 and 15/16 inches. The 6-digit lower display can indicate units, tags, or other variables such as volume, temperature, or density. The PD6081 also has dual analog inputs, for integrating traditional 4-20 mA or voltage inputs in the display scanning. The PD6081 can be setup as a Modbus master, slave, or snooper. Like all ProVu meters, the PD6081 includes UL / C-UL listing and CE marking, a NEMA 4X front, and AC or DC power options. Various math functions may be applied to the analog or Modbus inputs, such as addition, difference, average, and ratio.

    Why you should buy:
  • The ProtEX-MAX PD8-6001 explosion-proof level indicator offers all the functionality of the ProVu PD6001 as a fully FM, CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approved explosion-proof product. It is specifically designed to display level in feet & inches, instead of the usual decimal format. The meter accepts a process current (4-20 mA) or process voltage (0-5V, 1-5V, etc.) signal and displays that signal on a dual-line display with convenient feet and inches designations on the upper line. The upper display can even read fractions of an inch in 8ths or 16ths. The lower line can be used to indicate a tag or to display the input in another scale, such as volume in gallons or liters. The PD8-6001 includes a 24 VDC power supply to drive the transmitter and can be equipped with four internal relays and a 4-20 mA output. It can be programmed and operated without opening the housing by using the built-in SafeTouch® through-glass buttons or the RS485 serial communication port with free Modbus® protocol.

  • Go with the Helios PD2-6080 when you have multiple, (up to 16), Modbus registers you want to display on a single large display meter. The PD2-6080 can also accept two 4-20 mA signals. The PD2-6080 can be programmed as a Modbus RTU Master, Slave or Snooper allowing it to work in just about any Modbus application. Typically, the upper line displays the PV and the lower line displays the tag.

    Why you should buy:
  • Go with the Helios PD2-6081 when you have a level application involving Modbus signals and you prefer to display in feet and inches instead of the more common decimal format. The PD2-6081 can display up to 16 modbus registers so a typical application might be 16 tank levels, 8 tank levels and 8 interface levels, or 5 tank levels, 5 interface levels and 5 temperatures. The PD2-6081 makes a great outdoor tank side indicator because its display is bright enough to read in direct sunlight and it will operate from -40 to 150°F.
