Level is one of the most common applications for Precision Digital’s meters. Our most popular products can be used for level applications and we also have meters that are specifically intended for use in level systems. These digital panel meters and explosion-proof indicators communicate critical level information at eye-level to the operator, effectively increasing safety by eliminating the need for operators to climb the tanks. The level can also be controlled with the use of relays, open collector, or 4-20 mA analog outputs.   • PD6600 Loop Leader Loop-Powered Intrinsically Safe & Nonincendive Process Meter

    The Loop Leader PD6600 is an ATEX, IECEx approved, and UL listed, intrinsically safe and nonincendive, loop-powered, 1/8 DIN process meter. A dual-line display featuring five digits on the top line and eight digits on the bottom line, preprogrammed engineering units, loop-powered backlight with a unique red backlight option for alarm conditions, and optional bargraph display (PD6608) or feet & inches display (PD6607) provide a clear and attractive presentation of the process. All models come equipped with two open collector outputs and are available with two solid state relays and a 4-20 mA analog output. These outputs can be programmed for alarm indication, signal retransmission via pulse or analog signal, pump control, and a number of other useful features. The fact that this meter is loop-powered means that there is no need to run additional, costly power lines; the meter gets all of the power it needs from the 4-20 mA loop. The Loop Leader loop-powered process meter is built in a shallow-depth case with a IP65 front and features loop-powered backlighting and a wide -40 to 158°F (-40 to 70°C) operating temperature range. It doesn't matter if it's hazardous areas, indoors or outdoors, in bright sunlight or a dimly lit plant, or in an area that is wet, dirty, hot, or cold, the Loop Leader can go just about anywhere.

    The ProtEX+ loop-powered explosion-proof & intrinsically safe meters can be installed virtually anywhere to provide convenient and informative display of any 4-20 mA signal. They can operate down to -40°C and be installed in areas that get as cold as -55°C, however the display will cease functioning. One of the most convenient features is the dual-line display, typically used to display the process variable on the 5-character alphanumeric top display and the units of measure or tag on the 8-character alphanumeric bottom display. Feet and inches models display level in feet and inches on the top display while the 8-digit alphanumeric bottom line may be used to display a tag or custom message. Further enhancing the display on these instruments is a 20-segment bargraph.

The PD663 is easy to install and program and the display can be seen in a variety of lighting conditions, even in bright sunlight.   • PD6830X ProtEX-MFI Explosion-Proof Modbus Scanner

    The ProtEX PD6830X is an explosion-proof, RS485 serial input Modbus® RTU scanner capable of scanning up to 16 Modbus variables and displaying them on an easy-to-read, dual-line, LCD display. This Modbus scanner can be programmed as a Modbus RTU master, slave, or snooper. The PD6830X is available in two upper display line configurations: 5-digit decimal display and feet & inches display with bar graph. The lower line is the same for both versions and consists of seven alphanumeric characters.

  • PD685 Intrinsically Safe Type 4X, IP67 Loop-Powered Meter

    The PD685 is an easy to use, loop-powered indicator, certified by CSA, ATEX and IECEx as intrinsically safe. The PD685 carries international certifications under both the Class/Division System and Zone System, and is thereby suitable for use in gas and dust hazardous areas worldwide. For Division 2 applications where intrinsically safe interfaces are not needed, the PD685 is able to be installed without barriers! To achieve this ability, the PD685 underwent a special 'nonarcing assessment' under the UL 121201 and CSA C22.2 No. 213 standards, and was determined to be a device incapable of causing an ignition on its own. The PD685 is wellsuited for both indoor and outdoor applications and carries a variety of environmental ratings, including NEMA 4, Type 4X and IP67.

    The PD685 can be seen from considerable distance in bright sunlight or dimly lit areas when the standard backlight feature is activated. The fact that this meter is loop-powered means that there is no need to run additional, costly power lines into a hazardous area. The meter gets all of the power it needs from the 4-20 mA loop and its 1 V (4 V with backlight) drop results in a minimal burden on the loop. The meter features a wide -40 to 75°C operating temperature range and is available with a ½" conduit hole in a location of your choice for easy installation. Calibration is a quick two-step process involving the adjustment of only two sets of coarse and fine, non-interacting potentiometers.
