Virtual Meter Instructions

Main Menus

Select & Scale Input
  1. Select Thermocouple or RTD Input
  2. Select & Scale a Voltage Input
  3. Select & Scale a 4-20 mA Input
Note: To accept a 4-20 mA input, a resistor must be connected across the inputs, and the controller set Up for a voltage input. For this example, we assume a 100Ω resistor, and the 0.4 to 2.0 VDC input range is used. An alternative is a 250 Ω resistor with the the 1 to 5 VDC input range.
    1. Press and hold Set/Ent for 3 seconds to enter the setup menu.
    2. Press Down three times to reach the lockout password, .
    3. Press Set/Ent to enter the lockout password (the default is 0).
    4. Press Down to access (Input Group).
    5. press Set/Ent to access parameter (Input Type).
    6. Press Up until selection is displayed.
    7. Press Set/Ent to accept the 0.4 to 2.0 VDC input range.
    8. Press Set/Ent 3 times to access parameter (Decimal Point).
    9. Enter the digit location for the decimal point to display in the scaled value.
      Example: Display

    10. Press Set/Ent to accept the decimal point location if changed.
    11. Press Set/Ent to access parameter(Input Scale High).
    12. Press Up, Down, and Left to set this parameter to the value to be displayed at 20 mA.
    13. Press Set/Ent to accept the 20 mA scaling if changed.
    14. Press Set/Ent to access parameter(Input Scale Low).
    15. Press Up, Down, and Left to set this parameter to the value to be displayed at 4 mA.
    16. Press Set/Ent to accept the 4 mA scaling if changed.
    17. Press and hold Set/Ent for 3 seconds to exit the setup menu.
The Nova VirtualMeter assumes a 22°C or 72°F ambient temperature while programmed for a temperature input.
